This chromolithograph on paper presents a formal bust-length portrait of Abraham Lincoln, flanked by his birth and death years 1809 and 1865. A central facsimile signature reading Abraham Lincoln is printed below the portrait. The lower-left margin bears the publisher mark COPR. THE FORBES LITHO. MFG. CO. along with the text FROM AN ORIGINAL UNTOUCHED NEGATIVE MADE IN 1864. The lower-right margin is marked LITHO. IN U.S.A. The image is housed in a dark-stained wood frame featuring a gilded inner lip. The reverse retains a metal hanging wire and a degraded paper dust cover.
