Description
This collection consists of three American embossed glass bottles from the 19th and early 20th centuries. The central piece is an aqua glass historical flask attributed to the Dyottville Glass Works of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, dating to approximately the mid-19th century. It features an embossed profile bust of George Washington on the obverse surrounded by the text THE FATHER OF HIS COUNTRY and a profile bust of Zachary Taylor on the reverse with the text GEN TAYLOR NEVER SURRENDER. To the left is a clear glass beverage bottle with a fluted base, embossed with a circular seal reading C.W. SPRINGER and CO, LOUISVILLE, KY, and REGISTERED around a central TRADE W S MARK. To the right is a clear glass dairy bottle with a faint amethyst sun-purpled tint, embossed with PURE PROPERTY OF BALL ICE CREAM AND DAIRY CO. INC. LOUISVILLE, KY and IMPORTANT WASH and RETURN on the reverse.
