Description
This lot features two hand-thrown studio pottery stoneware pitchers of varying sizes and glazes. The first item is a large pitcher with a bulbous, globular body, a wide neck, and a flared rim with a pinched pouring spout. It is finished in a dark brown to black glaze that exhibits a distinct iridescent metallic sheen across its surface. The handle is a thick strap style with a prominent thumb rest at the top. The second item is a smaller creamer-style pitcher with a bulbous body and a loop handle, finished in a smooth, light green celadon-style glaze showing some drip marks near the base. The smaller vessel features an unglazed terracotta base with incised markings consisting of a cursive letter B, the number 3, and a diagonal slash. The larger pitcher has an unglazed, dark-toned base with no visible maker marks or stamps.
