Description
This collection consists of six antique household and kitchen primitives dating approximately from the late 19th to early 20th century. The group includes a three-tier cooling or display rack featuring a twisted wrought iron or steel wire construction. A small hand-held utility scoop and a cylindrical dry measure or cup are present, both made of tinned iron or steel with simple strap-style handles. The assortment contains a domed food or fly cover made of perforated sheet metal, topped with a turned wood knob finial. Also included is a large piston tool, likely an antique sausage stuffer or industrial syringe, featuring a cylindrical metal barrel with a removable tapered nozzle and a wooden plunger with a turned handle. Completing the set is a small round vessel featuring a mottled gray graniteware or agateware enamel finish on the base and a plain metal lid with a wire bail handle. No maker’s marks are visible on the exterior surfaces of the items.
