Description

A vintage American Coca-Cola advertising serving tray made of lithographed tin. The rectangular tray features the 1940 Fishing Girl illustration by Bradshaw Crandell, depicting a young woman in a sailor-style cap and rolled-up trousers seated on a wooden dock. She holds a bamboo fishing pole while drinking from a classic contour glass Coca-Cola bottle. The top of the tray features a red rectangular banner with the Drink Coca-Cola logo in white Spencerian script above the slogan Delicious and Refreshing in yellow serif lettering. The central image is set against a dark green background with a red and gold-tone striped rim. Along the bottom inner rim, the tray bears printed text reading THE AMERICAN ART WORKS INC. COSHOCTON OHIO followed by MADE IN U.S.A. A white rectangular adhesive price sticker is attached to the green background, hand-written with $8.50 and 1940 DOZ. The reverse side is finished in a solid grey-green paint and currently has a metal wire spring-tension plate hanger attached to the top and bottom rims.Length: Approximately 13 1/4 inchesWidth: Approximately 10 1/2 inches.
