J.A. Henckels Twin Works Solingen Germany 401 5/8 Straight Razor with Case
Description
A German carbon steel straight razor and its original fitted cardboard case. The folding razor features a hollow ground blade with a rounded point. The tang is struck on one side with a double-humanoid device, the word TWIN, and a second double-humanoid device, positioned above the text REG U.S. PAT. OFF. The reverse side of the tang is impressed with the text J.A. HENCKELS. TWIN WORKS over SOLINGEN. GERMANY. The scales are constructed of cream-colored celluloid with a visible faux-ivory grain pattern, featuring decorative die-struck metal bolsters at both ends. The pivot pin is surrounded by an ornamental metal collar. The accompanying two-piece slide case is finished in a textured red material. One end of the case features a circular gold-toned stamp containing the model number 401 over the blade width 5/8, flanked by two double-humanoid devices. The center of the case is printed in gold with J.A. HENCKELS TWIN WORKS SOLINGEN GERMANY and a larger double-humanoid device.Case length: 6 3/8 inchesBlade width: 5/8 inches.
