Dazey Churn and Manufacturing Company Model 330B Cast Iron and Galvanized Metal Floor Butter Churn
Description
A vintage floor-model mechanical butter churn featuring a cast iron frame and gearing assembly mounted atop a rectangular galvanized sheet metal reservoir. The black-painted cast iron frame is embossed on the central support with the name DAZEY in capital letters, followed by a curved line reading CHURN & MFG CO. and a straight line below reading ST. LOUIS MO. The left side of the frame bridge is impressed with the model number 330B. The mechanism consists of a large three-spoke fly wheel with a turned wooden handle grip, connected via a horizontal shaft to a bevel gear system that drives a vertical dasher shaft. A set screw at the collar allows for the adjustment or removal of the internal paddle assembly. The reservoir is covered by a two-part light-colored wooden lid fitted with two black-painted wooden knobs. The entire unit is supported by four flared cast iron feet integrated into the base frame. A circular threaded drainage port with a cap is located at the lower center of the front reservoir panel.Height: 24.5 inches to the top of the fly wheelWidth: 11.5 inches at the baseDepth: 9 inches at the base.
