The Estate of Bessie Mae Carriss
Lot 229:
Description
A Gemmy Industries Big Mouth Billy Bass animatronic wall plaque. The piece features a synthetic rubberized largemouth bass with a painted finish, mounted to a wood-grained plastic plaque designed to simulate a traditional taxidermy mount. The bass is depicted in a lateral position, with a textured scale pattern, articulated fins, and a dark glass or plastic eye. The base of the plaque features a central control panel with a prominent red plastic push-button and a circular aperture for an infrared motion sensor. A rectangular gold-toned plastic plate is affixed to the lower section, embossed with the name BIG MOUTH BILLY BASS in black block lettering. The unit is designed to activate via the button or motion sensor, causing the fish to turn its head, move its mouth and tail, and play pre-recorded music through an internal speaker. The reverse side typically contains a battery compartment for four AA batteries and a power switch.
