Description
A heavy-duty, rustic wooden crate constructed from thick-cut aged lumber, characterized by a distinctive stepped or flanged central horizontal support. The crate features metal corner strapping and a central iron hasp and staple intended for a padlock. The interior is fitted with vertical wooden slats along two opposing sides, creating a series of grooves designed for the secure transport of partitioned contents. The front panel is stenciled with a large black numeral 77. The lid bears remnants of black stenciled text arranged in multiple lines. Visible text includes FROM in the first line, HOLDEN MFG CO in the second line, and FORT WORTH in the bottom line, indicating the manufacturer as the Holden Manufacturing Company of Fort Worth, Texas.
