A group of American-made vintage agricultural and gardening hand tools, primarily manufactured by the Belknap Hardware and Manufacturing Company of Louisville, Kentucky. The lot includes a pair of heavy-duty, spring-loaded shears with cast iron handles featuring an embossed mark reading BLUE GRASS / BELKNAP HDW. & MFG. CO. Also present are two scythe handles, or snaths, with wooden grips stamped in blue ink with BLUE GRASS / BELKNAP HDW. & MFG. CO. The collection further contains three curved metal scythe blades housed in blue-painted metal guards. Additional items include a pair of hand shears with yellow plastic-coated handles, one pair with red-painted metal handles and black foam grips, and a pair of bypass pruners with blue textured handles. The pruners retain a yellow and blue adhesive label reading BEST / BLUE GRASS / BELKNAP HARDWARE & MFG. CO. / LOUISVILLE KY / BG140GS U.S.A. and an orange price sticker reading 18.99. Another pair of shears features an impressed oval mark on the blade reading BELKNAP / BLUE GRASS / LOUISVILLE. The hand shears with the yellow handles measure approximately 12 inches in length. The hand shears with the red and black foam handles measure approximately 12.5 inches in length.
