Description

A British military bolt-action rifle, identified by its receiver design and marks as a Lee-Enfield No. 4 Mk I, chambered in .303 British. The rifle features a shortened wooden stock in a sporterized configuration, with the original forward handguards and nose cap removed to expose the tapered barrel. The action is a cock-on-closing system with a bridge-mounted, flip-up ladder rear sight and a fixed blade front sight. It is equipped with a detachable ten-round box magazine and retains a brass buttplate. The metal surfaces exhibit various British military proof markings. On the top of the barrel near the breech, the number 3721 is impressed alongside a crown over BNP and the text 25 TONS per square inch. The left side of the receiver is marked with a crown over BNP and crossed scepters with letters in the angles. A handwritten tag attached to the trigger guard identifies the model as a British Lee-Enfield No. 4 Mk I, Cal .303 British, and records the serial number as A 78925. Overall length: 45.5 inches.
