Railway Express Agency Porcelain Enamel Advertising Sign

Description
A diamond-shaped advertising sign for the Railway Express Agency, constructed of porcelain enamel or painted heavy-gauge metal. The sign features a red ground with a black and white border. The agency name is displayed in stylized block lettering, with Railway and Agency in black characters outlined in white, and Express in solid white characters. The sign is equipped with two mounting holes, one at the top point and one at the bottom point, both reinforced with brass-colored grommets. The reverse side is finished in a flat grey color. The reverse side features a hand-written mark in blue ink reading 40. There is a printed mark on the white tape measure shown in photographs 4 and 5 reading MADE IN U.S.A. and P.R. APP’D. 252 Tc, which refers to the measuring tool and not the object itself. The sign measures approximately 11.25 inches across the horizontal points and 11.25 inches between the vertical points.
