Description
This American-made vintage multi-tool weather station is a promotional advertising piece for Greenfield Farm Service. The unit features a white-painted metal plate with a folded base that serves as a mounting bracket. The front face is printed in red and black ink. A central red graphic depicts a tractor, positioned above text reading GREENFIELD FARM SERVICE, U.S. 68 – ELKTON, KY., PHONE 265-2993, and the names Paul & Danny Greenfield. A clear glass rain collection tube is held in place by two integrated metal loops on the left side, corresponding to a printed vertical scale graduated in 1/10-inch increments up to 4 inches, marked with teardrop-shaped icons numbered 1 through 4. Centered on the plate is a liquid-in-glass thermometer with a red-dyed alcohol bulb, flanked by Fahrenheit and Celsius scales ranging from -30 to 120 and -30 to 50 respectively. To the right of the thermometer is a rainfall recorder featuring an umbrella icon and a sliding metal indicator on a vertical scale numbered 0 through 9. A small printed mark near the bottom center reads MADE IN U.S.A. followed by an illegible three-digit code, possibly 158. The item is accompanied by its original two-tone blue and white cardboard packaging, which bears the printed name Mayco and the words Rain Gauge. According to the ruler in the photograph, the metal backing plate measures approximately 6 inches in height.
