Description
This is a portable medical suction pump, identified by labels as the Schuco-Vac Model 5711 130. The unit consists of a cast metal motor and pump housing with a blue and off-white painted finish, mounted onto a matching blue metal base. It is equipped with an integrated vacuum gauge, a clear glass collection jar, and internal plastic connecting tubes. A black three-prong power cord is attached to the rear.The unit features several printed and stamped identifications. An adhesive label on the side of the blue motor housing is printed with Schuco-Vac and Personal Health Care Appliance 555U Listed. The label further specifies Model 5711 130, 115 Volts, 60 Cycle, and 2.5 Amps. A caution section states: CAUTION: DO NOT LUBRICATE THIS PUMP. RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK, DO NOT DISASSEMBLE, REFER SERVICING TO QUALIFIED SERVICE PERSONNEL. The label is dated 041591 and bears the address Schuco Inc. 333 Westbury Ave. Carle Place NY 11514. A small metallic tag on the motor housing is stamped SERIAL NO. 0491209.The vacuum gauge face is printed with Schuco, Carle Place, NY 11514, and Made in U.S.A. It features dual scales for 0 to 30 in Hg and 0 to 76 cm Hg. The clear glass jar is printed in blue with Schuco and Suction, featuring measurement graduations for 750cc, 500cc, and 250cc, along with a Safe Filling Limit line. The jar is secured by a chrome-plated wire rack. The black rubber power cord is present and shows no visible signs of fraying or damage (photo 5). The mechanical and electrical functionality of the pump has not been tested.
