Description
This collection of fine ivory-toned porcelain is manufactured by Lenox and features a wide pink border accented by elaborate acid-etched gold encrusted rims. The decoration consists of a repeating geometric scroll pattern within the wide outer gold band, a solid gold inner ring bordering a white center, and a fully gilded handle on the cup. The set includes twelve dinner plates, eight saucers, and one footed teacup with a gold-gilt interior rim. The underside of the pieces bears a printed green backstamp featuring a script capital letter L within a leafy wreath tied with a ribbon, above the word LENOX in sans-serif capital letters. Additionally, the base of the plates shows handwritten characters in gold-toned pigment reading 1830 followed by P. 67. X. 15. 3. Dinner plate: 10 5/8 inches in diameter.Saucer: 5 3/4 inches in diameter.
