Description
This pair of matching framed prints features two distinct sports themes starring Mickey Mouse and Goofy. The first print depicts Mickey Mouse dressed in a red and yellow soccer jersey, mid-kick, with a soccer ball suspended in the air. In the background, Goofy is shown as a goalkeeper having fallen in front of the net amidst a crowded stadium. The second print, which includes the printed text MICKEY at bat along the lower margin, shows Mickey Mouse in a baseball uniform and batting helmet in a dynamic batting stance. Goofy appears behind him dressed in catcher’s gear. Both prints are commercial offset lithographs characterized by bright, saturated colors and smooth gradients typical of late 20th-century character merchandise. The prints are mounted with white mats and housed in identical bright red metal frames under glass. The reverse of the soccer print features a rectangular gold adhesive label that reads: Professionally Framed By: / DECK THE WALLS / AMERICA’S ART & CUSTOM FRAMING / Mall of the Mainland / (409) 935-8387. The reverse of the baseball print features a circular gold serrated-edge adhesive seal that reads: DECK THE WALLS / LIMITED EDITION.
