Description
A pair of matching American solid oak armchairs produced by Richardson Brothers Company in the late 20th century. The chairs are designed in a traditional Colonial Revival Windsor style, featuring a steam-bent hoop back with nine tapered spindles. The curved continuous arms are supported by three spindles and shaped side supports, leading to a contoured saddle seat. The chairs stand on four turned legs connected by two-tier H-stretchers with central swell turnings. The underside of the seats bears a black printed mark reading RICHARDSON BROTHERS COMPANY SINCE 1848 MADE IN THE USA 7 1991 462. A separate black boxed stamp containing the number 508 is also present, alongside a handwritten mark in white chalk reading CR.Height: 37 inchesWidth: 25 inches.
