Description
A collection of molded plastic toy train components and accessories from the Playskool Express line. The set features a six-unit consist including a locomotive, a passenger car, a flatbed car, a stock car, a gondola car, and a caboose. The locomotive is finished in blue with a red cowcatcher and yellow trim, bearing a printed white numeral 9 and the name PLAYSKOOL on the cab side. The blue passenger car has a white clerestory roof with printed legends reading FIRST PE CLASS and PLAYSKOOL in blue. The yellow flatbed car bears the name PLAYSKOOL in red and carries three removable brown crates. The green slatted stock car features a yellow roof and is labeled PLAYSKOOL EXPRESS. The blue gondola car features printed white text reading MAX. CAPY., a stylized circular logo with the letters PE, and the name PLAYSKOOL; it carries three gray barrels. The red caboose with a gray roof is marked PLAYSKOOL EXPRESS in white and bears a gold-colored steam engine emblem. The assortment is accompanied by a group of figures including railroad employees in green and blue, a conductor, passengers, and a child on a yellow bicycle, as well as two Holstein-patterned cows. Trackside accessories include a white crossbuck crossing sign marked PLAYSKOOL CROSSING in black, a red octagonal STOP sign, blue rectangular parking and bicycle path signs, a dual railway signal, and four flower-adorned landscape mounds.
