Description
A hand-carved and painted wooden mask featuring a three-tiered composition in the style of contemporary Latin American folk art. The top section depicts a stylized bird, possibly an eagle or quetzal, with green wings and a red breast. The central tier consists of a headdress ornamented with a small animal face, likely a jaguar, flanked by panels with scrollwork and star-shaped motifs. The bottom portion shows a human face with a dark green nose and forehead, a central dot on the brow, and large W-shaped markings on the cheeks. The piece is finished with vibrant polychrome paint and red accents around the eyes and mouth.
