Description
A limited edition fine china collector plate produced by the Edwin M. Knowles China Company. This piece is the eighth issue in the Gone With the Wind collection and features artwork by Raymond Kursar. The scene, titled Bonnie and Rhett, depicts the characters Rhett Butler and Bonnie Blue Butler with a pony in a garden setting with a gazebo in the background. The front of the plate bears the artist signature R. Kursar in the lower right. The reverse features an extensive backstamp including the 1985 production year, plate number 16062, and the Bradex number 84-K41-3.8. It notes that the edition was limited to one hundred firing days and issued under the official aegis of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. The plate is housed in a circular dark-stained wooden frame with a plastic backing labeled The Hampshire. Included with the plate is a gold-tone wire display stand and a partial paper informational pamphlet from the manufacturer. Frame outer diameter: 12 5/8 inches.
