Description
This lot consists of two vintage replacement D-handle shafts designed for garden tools like shovels or forks. Each item features a wooden shaft with a tapered end for tool head attachment and a formed metal D-handle frame with a riveted wooden grip bar. The first shaft features a blue-painted metal handle and contains a partial adhesive label identifying it as a Belknap Blue Grass product from Louisville, Kentucky. The label includes the text BG7SS SHOVEL above a blue and red quatrefoil logo. The second shaft features a red-painted metal handle with branding for the Blue Ribbon line, a trademark of the Shapleigh Hardware Co. of St. Louis, Missouri. The red handle has a large, worn paper label with stylized Blue Ribbon text and Superior Quality marking. The wood below this label is stamped BR-10.
