Description
This is a pair of solid sterling silver flat handle butter spreaders in the Candlelight pattern by Towle. Introduced in 1934, the pattern features an ornate border of scrolls, blossoms, and foliage flanking a polished, unadorned central panel. These pieces are characterized by their broad, blunt-tipped blades with a slight upward curve. The reverse of each handle is stamped with the Towle maker mark consisting of a stylized letter T within a shield, the words TOWLE and STERLING, and the pattern name Candlelight in script. These items are unmonogrammed. Length: Approximately 5 7/8 inches Weight: 59 grams.
