Description
A pair of solid sterling silver butter spreaders in the Candlelight pattern by Towle Silversmiths. These items are of flat-handle construction, forged from a single piece of silver rather than having separate weighted handles. The decorative pattern, introduced in 1934, features a scrolling floral and foliate border flanking a central smooth, tapered panel. The reverse of each handle is stamped with the Towle hallmark of a capital T within a shield, followed by the text TOWLE STERLING and the pattern name Candlelight in a script font. There are no monograms or evidence of removals. Length: 5.75 inches Weight: 59 grams total.
