Description
This set of fine white porcelain table service includes a creamer and a matching covered sugar bowl produced by Theodore Haviland New York. Both pieces feature the Shasta pattern, decorated with transfer-printed clusters of yellow Shasta daisies and delicate wild grasses. Each vessel is designed with a fluted body and a flared, footed base. The rims, handles, and the finial of the sugar bowl lid are finished with hand-applied gold-tone gilding. The base of each item bears a stamped manufacturer mark. Transcription of mark: Theodore Haviland New York, MADE IN AMERICA, Shasta. Stamped alphanumeric characters C-8 and 47 are also visible on the base. Sugar Bowl: 4 inches height to the top of the lid finial; 6 1/4 inches width across the handles. Creamer: 4 1/4 inches height at the handle.
