Description
This large-scale Goebel M.I. Hummel porcelain figurine is titled Welcome Spring (German title: Fruehlingstanz), model number 635. The piece depicts two young girls in reddish-brown dresses holding hands in a dancing pose before a tall flowering tree. The tree is detailed with numerous individually applied white blossoms featuring red and yellow centers. A birdhouse is attached to the tree trunk with a black bird perched at the entrance hole. The scene is set on an textured oval base with a grassy appearance, small flowers, and a section of a split-rail fence. The underside of the base features the blue Goebel Germany factory stamp with the bee symbol and the circular blue Century Collection mark for 1993, identifying it as the eighth issue in the series. Incised marks include the model number 635, the number 12, and a copyright date of 1990. Additional black printed marks read EAU and 055. The figurine is accompanied by its original Goebel retail box and a paper Certificate of Authenticity. Height: 12.5 inches Width: 8.25 inches Depth: 5 inches.
