Description
A World War II-era Air Raid Warden badge issued by the City of Boston Police Department. The badge is constructed of nickel-plated base metal, likely brass, in a shield shape with a scalloped top and pointed base. The face features six lines of stamped text and numbers with dark enamel fill. The top reads WARDEN AIR RAID above the large central identifying number 305. The lower half is stamped POLICE DEPT. CITY OF BOSTON and DIV. 4. The reverse side features a vertical pin with a C-clasp assembly. No manufacturer markings are present. Width: 2 inches Height: 2 1/4 inches.
