Description
Meyer and Wenthe Cook County Illinois Special Deputy Sheriff law enforcement badge. This five-point star badge is constructed from nickel-plated metal and features decorative ball tips at each point. The center of the badge contains a circular medallion depicting the seal of Cook County, Illinois, with a handshake motif and the words COUNTY OF COOK. The seal is encircled by a raised border ring embossed with DEPUTY SHERIFF on the left side and COOK CO. ILLS. on the right. The top point of the star is embossed with the word SPECIAL. A rectangular plaque at the base of the circular ring displays the duty number 218 with black enamel fill. The reverse features a vertical pin-back with a safety-style locking catch. A stamped hallmark is located on the reverse, reading MEYER & WENTHE CHICAGO with a horizontal divider bar. Height: 2.5 inches Width: 2.5 inches.
