Description
A pair of solid sterling silver teaspoons in the Candlelight pattern by Towle Silversmiths. The pattern, first introduced in 1934, features a traditional mid-century design with scrolled floral borders along the edges of the handles and a central longitudinal ridge. The reverse of the bowls features decorative shell-style fluting at the terminal. The reverse of each handle bears stamped manufacturer marks. One spoon is marked TOWLE STERLING Pat. 1934 R Candlelight. The second spoon features the Towle Silversmiths hallmark of a stylized lion within a T shape, followed by TOWLE STERLING R Candlelight. The R designation indicates a regular weight classification by the maker. Length: 6 inches Weight: 52 grams.
