Description
A pair of sterling silver spoons in the Candlelight pattern by Towle Silversmiths of Newburyport, Massachusetts. Introduced in 1934, the style features a decorative border of scrolls and flowers flanking a plain, polished central channel. The back of each handle bears stamped markings confirming their sterling silver purity. The first spoon is stamped TOWLE STERLING Pat. 1934 with a circled R and the pattern name Candlelight. The second spoon bears a maker mark consisting of a large letter T with a lion symbol within, followed by TOWLE STERLING, a circled R, and the pattern name Candlelight.
