Description
A pair of solid sterling silver forks in the Candlelight pattern manufactured by Towle Silversmiths. The pattern, first issued in 1934, is characterized by a raised, unadorned central panel on the handle flanked by detailed floral and foliate scrollwork. The handles terminate in flared, squared tips. The reverse of each handle is marked with the Towle company hallmark, which includes a stylized T and griffin within a diamond shape, alongside the words TOWLE and STERLING in block letters, and Candlelight in a cursive script. These pieces are sized as place or luncheon forks. Length: 7 3/8 inches Weight: 74 grams total.
