Description
This lot consists of five pieces of sterling silver flatware in the Strasbourg pattern, manufactured by the Gorham Manufacturing Company of Providence, Rhode Island. The collection includes two teaspoons, one dessert or citrus spoon with a shell-form bowl, one three-tine seafood or cocktail fork, and one baby spoon featuring a looped handle with a decorative hammered finish. Introduced in 1897, the Strasbourg pattern is a classic rococo-style design characterized by scrolled borders and shell motifs. The reverse of the handles are stamped with GORHAM STERLING followed by the firm’s hallmarks: a lion passant, an anchor, and a gothic-style capital G.
