Description
A large rectangular wall mirror featuring an ornate frame in the Rococo Revival style. The frame is constructed from a wood or composite material with elaborate molded high-relief decoration, including C-scrolls, acanthus leaves, and floral motifs at the corners and mid-sections. The finish consists of an antiqued off-white paint with gilded highlights on the raised ornaments and a beaded trim border adjacent to the glass. The mirror plate is designed with a beveled edge. The reverse of the mirror is finished with a blue-painted frame and a brown cardboard backing secured with glazier points. It is equipped with a large metal French cleat hanging bracket at the top for horizontal mounting. Identification marks on the reverse include the inventory number GT 008 written in blue ink on the top center and handwritten measurements of 35 3/4 and 47 on the red-painted inner edge of the frame.
