Description
This collection consists of four distinct vintage and antique novelty items and toys. The first is a horse-drawn carriage toy depicting a single horse in a galloping pose pulling a two-wheeled cart with a seated driver figure. This piece is made of cast iron and features traces of original white paint on the horse and blue paint on the carriage and driver’s clothing. The driver figure is secured to the seat with a period wire wrap. The second item is a solid model of a steam locomotive handcrafted from compressed Kentucky coal. The matte black piece includes an underside gold foil label with black text that reads Handcrafted FROM KENTUCKY COAL. The third item is a still bank in the shape of a house, featuring a gabled roof, central chimney, and a coin slot on the roof. This cast iron bank is a two-piece casting held together by a central internal mechanism. The final piece is a toy automobile styled after an early 20th-century coupe, similar to a Ford Model T. It is a cast iron toy painted matte black with gold-tone accents on the wheel hubs and headlights.
