Description

An antique cylindrical measure, likely used as a grain scale bucket or sample container, constructed from a heavy-walled copper-based alloy such as brass or bronze. The vessel features a flat base showing concentric machining marks consistent with lathe finishing or spinning. An arched, flat-bar handle is attached to the rim with two slotted brass screws and supports a central wrought iron or steel suspension hook. This type of bucket was commonly employed with large beam scales for weighing commodities in agricultural and industrial settings. There are no visible maker marks, stamps, or labels.Height: 5 3/4 inchesDiameter: 5 3/4 inches.
