Description
This antique stoneware jug features a cylindrical body with a rounded shoulder and a short, narrow neck. The exterior is finished in a monochromatic, cream-colored Bristol glaze. It is equipped with two integral lug-style ears that secure a wire bail handle. The handle retains its original turned wooden grip. No maker marks, location stamps, or capacity numbers are visible on the exterior of the vessel. This style of stoneware was commonly produced in the United States between 1890 and 1920 for the storage and transport of liquids like molasses or cider. Height: 11 inches Diameter: 7 inches.
