Description
This set features a late 19th to early 20th-century miniature cast iron sad iron and a coordinating footed trivet. The iron is a single-piece casting with a pointed nose, a flat base, and a fixed loop handle. The matching trivet is designed with an openwork scrollwork surface, a raised rear flange for securing the iron, and four short integral feet. Both pieces have been finished in a light mint green paint, which is a later decorative application rather than an original factory finish. There are no legible maker marks, names, or model numbers visible on either piece; the base of the iron contains a circular casting indentation.Iron: 4.5 inches long, 2.25 inches wide, 4 inches high.Trivet: 5 inches long, 3.5 inches wide.
