Description
This lot consists of two vintage American-made washboards from the early to mid-20th century, constructed with wooden frames and corrugated brass-toned metal rubbing surfaces. The first washboard is a National Washboard Co. No. 801, featuring a wooden frame that has been painted white. The front panel is printed with the manufacturer name and the locations Chicago, Saginaw, and Memphis. This model includes vertical safety bars positioned over the metal surface. The name HAYDEN is written in orange crayon on the upper reverse panel. The second washboard is a No. Monarch 425, manufactured by The Monarch Mfg. Co. of Tiffin, Ohio. The front panel features a diamond logo with the text THE BEST and SAVE, and drainage holes above the rubbing surface labeled RETURN DRAIN.
