Description
This antique wooden chest is an oak sewing machine cover, commonly referred to as a coffin top or dust cover. It is constructed from oak with a prominent vertical grain pattern and features a domed lid design. The front displays a decorative inset panel with a label inscribed with the brand name New England Queen in a blackletter-style font. The case is equipped with a brass-toned metal handle on the top and two rear-mounted hinges. It rests on four small bracket feet. A circular opening is located at the lower center of the front panel, likely for a key or cord access.
