Description
This late 19th-century mechanical shelf clock features a wooden case designed in the Gothic-influenced steeple or chapel style. The case is detailed with a scalloped pediment, a central pointed arch, and a carved top finial. A hinged front door with a clear glass panel reveals the interior components. The circular dial displays black Roman numerals and two winding arbors, though it shows significant surface deterioration and staining. The clock is powered by a spring-driven mechanical movement and includes a wire gong chime and a pendulum with a decorative silver-toned bob. A handwritten note on a yellowed paper scrap inside the base reads 1892 Jan 12.
