Description

This antique kerosene table lamp features a burner assembly manufactured by the Plume and Atwood Manufacturing Company of Danbury, Connecticut. The lamp is composed of four primary sections: a clear glass chimney, a decorative pressed glass font, a hand-painted cylindrical stem, and a hammered metal base. The chimney is made of clear blown glass with a bulbous lower section tapering to a straight, fire-polished rim. The font or fuel reservoir is made of clear pressed glass featuring a repeating geometric pattern of sunbursts and textured diamond-point motifs. The central stem consists of a cylindrical milk glass or porcelain section decorated with a hand-painted winter landscape, depicting a small cabin in a snowy field with a split-rail fence and a bare tree under a large sun or moon. The burner assembly is constructed of brass-toned metal and includes a functional wick adjustment knob and a four-prong chimney holder. The adjustment knob is embossed with the manufacturer mark reading P and A MFG CO, DANBURY CONN, MADE IN USA. The lamp sits on a circular, stepped base made of brass or brass-plated metal with a decorative hammered texture.Overall Height: 20 inchesFont Width: 5.5 inches.
