Description
A vintage mixed-metal spittoon or cuspidor featuring a three-part construction. The central bulbous section is crafted from copper and displays a raised horizontal center seam. The vessel transitions into a flared brass neck that terminates in a wide, flat rim. It stands on a flared brass pedestal base detailed with a series of lightly incised vertical linear markings. The construction consists of spun metal sections joined together. The overall form is highly consistent with traditional commercial and railroad spittoons of the mid-20th century, such as those attributed to the Union Pacific Railroad or Redskin brand, although this particular example lacks any visible maker’s marks or branding.Height: 11.5 inchesDiameter: 9 inches.
