Description
This lot features two American vintage pressed glass oil lamps. The first lamp (left) is constructed with a clear glass font characterized by a pebbled or crackle texture. It stands on a circular pedestal base embellished with embossed scrolling and foliate motifs. The brass burner includes a wick adjuster thumbwheel marked P & A DORSET DIV. THOMASTON CONN. MADE IN U.S.A., identifying the manufacturer as the Plume and Atwood Manufacturing Company. The second lamp (right) is composed of a clear glass font decorated with an embossed floral and foliage pattern. It features a tiered, concentric-ring pedestal base and a separate brass filler cap located on the shoulder of the font. This lamp is fitted with an ornate brass burner featuring a high perforated gallery, a crown-style chimney holder, and a black faceted wick adjuster knob. Both lamps are accompanied by clear glass chimneys; the left chimney has a flared rim, and the right chimney has a straight-top profile.Height of left lamp: 18.5 inchesBase diameter of left lamp: 6 inchesHeight of right lamp: 18 inches.
