Description
This Dietz Vesta railroad lantern was manufactured by the R.E. Dietz Company for the New York Central System (NYCS). The lantern is constructed with a stamped steel frame and a clear glass globe. The frame shoulder is stamped N.Y.C.S. and the top cap features the embossed Dietz Vesta oval logo. The clear glass globe is embossed with Dietz Vesta New York U.S.A. and features an etched NX mark on the opposite side. The assembly includes a wire guard cage, a vertical bail handle, and a fuel fount base with a side-mounted wick adjustment knob.Height to top of cap: Approximately 10 inchesHeight including upright bail handle: Approximately 15.5 inchesWidth at widest point of cage: Approximately 7 inches.
