Description
SHIPPING NOT AVAILABLE, FOR PICK UP OR TRANSPORT ONLY – An antique single-piece three-door upright icebox manufactured for the Belknap Hardware & Manufacturing Company of Louisville, Kentucky, under the Blue Ribbon house brand. The cabinet is constructed of solid oak featuring distinctive quartersawn grain patterns and medullary rays with a panel-and-frame design and a bullnose edge top. The front configuration consists of two stacked doors on the left and a single full-height door on the right, all secured with heavy cast metal hinges and lever-style latches in a brass or bronze finish. The back is finished with vertical beadboard panels. The interior is fully lined with galvanized metal. The right compartment is fitted with three wire rack shelves, while the upper left ice compartment contains a corrugated metal ice tray. A drain hole is visible in the floor of the lower left compartment. An original blue and silver enameled metal manufacturer’s plate is mounted on the central front rail, reading: BLUE RIBBON BELKNAP HARDWARE & MFG. CO.
