Description
FOR PICK UP OR TRANSPORT ONLY: This Jacobean Revival style drop-front secretary or writing desk dates from the early to mid-20th century. The two-tier design features an upper section with a hinged drop-front panel that opens to reveal an interior storage compartment and a writing surface. The lower section consists of a two-door cupboard opening to a single open storage area. The cabinet is elevated on four turned legs with square blocks, joined by a rectangular H-stretcher base. The piece is constructed from a hardwood, such as maple, birch, or oak, with a solid wood or plywood back panel. The exterior is finished in a matte black paint with intentional distressing along the edges and moldings to reveal the underlying wood tones. It is fitted with five ornate cast metal knobs in a stylized fleur-de-lis pattern. The drop-front is secured with a single latch and bottom-mounted hinges, while the lower doors utilize standard butt hinges. No drawers are present in this construction.
