Description
An antique industrial metal oil filler can manufactured by the Eagle Manufacturing Company of Wellsburg, West Virginia. The dispenser features a cylindrical body construction with a domed top and an offset, short pouring spout. A large, central hexagonal screw-on filler cap is positioned at the top. The can includes a swinging wire bail handle attached to two side loops. The upper shoulder of the can is stamped with the manufacturer name EAGLE in capital letters. A circular metal badge with side tabs is affixed to the main body; however, the embossed text or logo within the badge is heavily worn and not legible. This specific design and marking are consistent with oilers utilized in railroad and industrial maintenance during the early to mid-20th century.
Body diameter: 5.5 inches
Height to filler cap: 7.5 inches
Total height to top of handle: 11 inches.
