A pair of sand-cast iron commemorative bookends produced to mark the final iron pour at the International Harvester Louisville Foundry in 1984. The face of each bookend features a high-relief scene depicting a foundry worker in protective gear using a long-handled ladle to pour molten metal into a casting mold. The upper field is embossed with Louisville Foundry and the International Harvester IH logo. A raised plaque at the top edge is embossed with E. L. Hickerson. The year 1984 is embossed on the side of the mold, and the front apron of the base bears the text Last Iron. Each piece is finished with a gold-toned paint.
