Description
An Art Deco bridge-arm floor lamp, also known as a junior floor lamp, dating to approximately the late 1920s or 1930s. The lamp is constructed from cast metal with a patinated brass-tone finish. The decorative bridge arm features a central crest depicting a stylized spread-winged bird within a shield-shaped frame. The central pole includes a twisted metal section punctuated by two square-profile green marbled slag glass columns and a central spherical glass bead. The lamp stands on a cast metal base with scrolling openwork and a square green marbled slag glass insert. The side of the bridge arm is marked with raised characters PATENT 74570, corresponding to a 1928 design patent. The fixture includes a standard brass pull-chain socket. No lampshade is present.
