Description
FOR PICK UP OR TRANSPORT ONLY: A settle-style hall bench or storage bench featuring a composite construction of mixed woods. The piece utilizes a high back composed of five horizontal planks secured between square corner posts, each topped with a carved fluted pineapple finial. The solid armrests transition into a lower base section consisting of a repurposed serpentine-front furniture unit. This base features a single large drawer with visible dovetail joinery. The drawer front is adorned with two brass-toned bail handles mounted on decorative batwing backplates and includes a central keyhole with a simple escutcheon. The entire piece is supported by four shaped cabriole-style bracket feet. The finish varies between a reddish-brown stain on the back panels and a darker, more opaque mahogany tone on the base and sides. The back of the unit shows the characters 154 written in white chalk or grease pencil.
