Description
FOR PICK UP OR TRANSPORT ONLY: An antique cast iron drive axle assembly of the type commonly utilized for stationary hit and miss engine carts or similar heavy agricultural implements. The assembly features a pair of spoked wheels with flat iron rims, mounted to a heavy-gauge crank-shaped axle. This drop-axle or crank design was engineered to provide a lowered center of gravity for heavy machinery while maintaining necessary ground clearance. A central T-junction housing is positioned at the midpoint of the axle, featuring a perpendicular shaft with a socketed end and a vertical stabilizing leg. Traces of original green paint are visible on the axle and central components. Cast-in characters are present on the wheel hubs and central housing, though they are currently illegible due to oxidation and surface wear.
